I owe everyone who’s blog-readin’ this tumblr an apology: I returned from work at Fashion Week in France and Italy a couple of weeks ago and have been preoccupied with my other life and all the aggravations that come with it. (This is not to say that Fashion Week is all ladies who lunch - it is without a doubt one of the most exhausting things I do during the year. I know: “boo hoo.” You’ll simply have to take my word for this one.

Above, I’m wearing all Margiela (all 3 to 4 years old.) The blue silk dress is from Margiela Line 4. Line 4, I’m convinced, is near unbeatable when it comes to making unpretentious but exquisitely made clothing for daily wear; my tawny ombre nabuck Tabis (Line 22) have more than proven their worth. This year, I wore them for 10 days straight. By this point, the tabi worn sans socks feels more natural than with - it is certainly my current preference.
Mr. Tabis and I had some difficulties at first, but we eased into a comfortable rhythm within a day or two. Did I mention that I’d forgotten to pack socks? The fact should make the coziness of my 10 day affair with the tabis-that-transform-a-woman-into-a-faun even more impressive.
